| 1 A wise son heeds his father's instruction, but a mocker does not listen to rebuke.
2 From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful have a craving for violence.
3 He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.
4 The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
5 The righteous hate what is false, but the wicked bring shame and disgrace.
6 Righteousness guards the man of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
7 One man pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.
8 A man's riches may ransom his life, but a poor man hears no threat.
9 The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.
10 Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.
11 Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
13 He who scorns instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command is rewarded.
14 The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.
15 Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard. Or unfaithful does not endure
16 Every prudent man acts out of knowledge, but a fool exposes his folly.
17 A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy brings healing.
18 He who ignores discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honored.
19 A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil.
20 He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
21 Misfortune pursues the sinner, but prosperity is the reward of the righteous.
22 A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children, but a sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous.
23 A poor man's field may produce abundant food, but injustice sweeps it away.
24 He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.
25 The righteous eat to their hearts' content, but the stomach of the wicked goes hungry.
| Never does the human soul appear so strong as when it forgoes revenge and dares to forgive an injury,
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, because they don't know what they are doing."
Luke 23:34 NCV
Jewish law required the fair treatment of enemies, and by no means called upon all crimes to be punished by "an eye for an eye" but it did not require forgiveness
You have heard that is was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also; and if anyone wants to sue you and take your coat, give your cloak as well; and if anyone forces you to go one mile, go also the second mile. give to everyone who begs from you and do not refuse anyone who wants to borrow from you.
You have heard that it was said, " You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy." But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward to you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is Perfect. Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"
Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. "Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. "The servant fell on his knees before him. `Be patient with me,' he begged, `and I will pay back everything.' The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. "But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. `Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded. "His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, `Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.' "But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened. "Then the master called the servant in. `You wicked servant,' he said, `I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart."

| Jesus wants us to show appreciation to those who help us grow up in the lord.
do not save your loving speeches for your friends till they are dead; Do not write them on their tombstones, speak them rather now instead.
Welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and show your appreciation.
Philippians 2:29
When Jesus was dying on the cross, He asked God to forgive those who had put him there.
Never does the human soul appear so strong as when it forgoes revenge and dares to forgive an injury.
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, because they don't know what they're doing." (Luke 23:34)
We should be happy to face trials because they help make us more like Jesus. Happiness is the result of circumstances, but joy endures in spite of circumstances.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perserverance.
James 1:2-3 | | |
| Jesus told those who have been saved to have compassion for those who are still lost.
Kindness has converted more people than zeal, science, or eloquence.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (Matthew 9:36)
Forgive like Jesus
When Jesus was hanging on the cross he cried out to God to forgive those who were responsible.
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, because they don't know what they are doing." (Luke 23:24)
Jesus was loving, kind, gentle, forgiving, and peaceful and He wants us to be the same.
It's good to be a Christian and know it, but it's better to be a Christian and show it.
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness humility gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus....
(Colossians 3:12-13,17)
Jesus would be Optimistic (my Favorite haha)
Jesus wants us to see beyond temporary setbacks and focus on the promise of the future.
Few cases of eyestrain have been developed by looking on the bright side of things.
I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of contentment in every situation, wheter it be a full stomach or hunger, plenty or want; for I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.

| --Whoever hears Jesus' words, hears him. There is no gap between his words and thoughts. His words perfectly express his convictions and his character. Moreover, there is perfect consistency between what he thinks and who he is. (Notice how he fulfills the beatitutdes) So if we hear and follow his words, we are also becoming more like his person, and that is a blessed thing. To heed Jesus is so to be conformed to his person (Dr Dan Doriani, Covenant Theological Seminary)
Jesus was ready to pray each moment of the day or night.
Prayer should be the key of the morning and the lock of the night.
Pray all the time (1 Thessalonians 5:17 (The Message)
We must stand firm in truth, rightousness, and peace.
In trying times, don't quit trying.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with readiness that comes from the gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:14-15)
We cannot give others the word of God if we do not know the Scripture!
The best law for the Bible study is the law of perseverance. The pslamist says, "I have stuck unto the testimonies..." Some people are like express trains; they skim along so quickly that they see nothing.
Then he started at the beginning, with the Books of Moses, and went through all the prophets, pointing out everything in the Scriptures that referred to him. (Luke 24:27 (The Message)
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be throughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
